Effects of Anomalous Andreev Reflection in High T , Layered Structures
نویسنده
چکیده
Andreev reflection is investigated in layered anisotropic normal metal / superconductor (NE) systems in the case of an energy gap in S not negligible respect to the Fermi energy, as probably occurring in high critical temperature superconductors (HTS). We find that in these limits retroreflectivity, which is a fundamental feature of Andreev reflection, is broken modifying sensitively transport across S/N interfaces. This study is extended to aspects proper of HTS junctions to investigate both the supercurrents in S-N-S Josephson structures and zero bound states in S-N contacts respectively. Such an investigation provides a new insight into the effects that anisotropy determines into the phenomenology of HTS grain boundary junctions.

The influence of spin - dependent phases of tunneling electrons on the conductance of a point ferromagnet / isolator / superconductor contact
The Andreev reflection probability for a ferromag-net/isolator/superconductor (FIS) contact at the arbitrary spin-dependent amplitudes of the electron waves transmitted through and reflected from the potential barrier is found. It is shown that Andreev reflection probabilities of electron and hole excitations in the FIS contact are different. The energy levels of Andreev bound states are found....
متن کامل2 00 9 Anomaly in Andreev reflection at large ferromagnet / high - T C superconductor area junctions with rough interface
Sub-gap conductance at a large area junction with a rough interface of a ferromagnet and a high-T C superconductor is superimposed by multiple peaks which is not expected from an ideal point contact Andreev reflection process. We demonstrate this phenomenon by measuring resistance as a function of bias voltage of a Co/Y 1 Ba 2 Cu 3 O 7−δ junction with contact area 50 x 70 µ m 2 at various tempe...
متن کاملHigh-Efficiency Cooper-Pair Splitter in Quantum Anomalous Hall Insulator Proximity-Coupled with Superconductor
The quantum entanglement between two qubits is crucial for applications in the quantum communication. After the entanglement of photons was experimentally realized, much effort has been taken to exploit the entangled electrons in solid-state systems. Here, we propose a Cooper-pair splitter, which can generate spatially-separated but entangled electrons, in a quantum anomalous Hall insulator pro...

We study the transport of electrons in a graphene NSN structure in which two normal regions are connected by a superconducting strip of thickness d. Within Dirac-Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations we describe the transmission through the contact in terms of different scattering processes consisting of quasiparticle cotunneling, local and crossed Andreev reflections. Compared to a fully normal stru...
متن کاملAndreev bound states in high - T c superconducting junctions
The formation of bound states at surfaces of materials with an energy gap in the bulk electron spectrum is a well known physical phenomenon. At superconductor surfaces, quasiparticles with energies inside the superconducting gap ∆ may be trapped in bound states in quantum wells, formed by total reflection against the vacuum and total Andreev reflection against the superconductor. Since an elect...
